A funny thing happened on my way to the Blog today…

Most days I’m so focused on the tasks ahead and on my own clients’ businesses that I don’t really give a thought to my own.  Does that sound familiar?

When I do have some clarity and seem to get the most ideas is when I”m showering in the mornings…and of course all of  those thoughts go no further than down the drain along with the shampoo suds because I don’t take a moment to record them in any way.

This morning was different…inspiration struck for an ezine article and I knew, I just knew that I had to write that article and get it out right NOW!

Then I went downstairs, had breakfast, checked my email…you get where I’m going with this right???

The more time passed, the less likely that ezine became.  I thought, “Well, I have to come up with a catchy subject line so people open the message.” and “I haven’t sent an ezine in forever, I have to add a free bonus or something so that people feel like they’re getting something of value” and then I thought “Well, it can’t just be that one article, I have to write a cutesy personal note and maybe come up with  a relevant picture, and oh yeah, I better throw in a recommended product or solution.”

Suddenly it went from this note or observation I wanted to share with my list to this big, overwhelming monster that would never get done, because if I couldn’t do it *RIGHT NOW*, what was the point in doing it all, right?

So that’s when I decided…I don’t need to stress myself out over this.  I can still share my message.  It doesn’t have to be done ‘RIGHT NOW’.  I have options.

If I want to stick with the ezine route, I can have my team help me put it together and we can create something lovely and send it out next week.

Or, I could say “Who needs a stinking ezine, anyway?” and share it as a blog post or as a post on Facebook.

My point is, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

How many times have you let this ‘All or Nothing’ mentality keep you from implementing something in your business?
