A little nostalgia

I found myself watching an old rerun of Bewitched the other day.  At the risk of dating myself, this was one of my favorite shows growing up.  This episode featured Samantha and Darren Stevens at a dinner party at a potential client’s home.  Everyone was dressed in beautiful dresses and tuxedos, sipping champagne, sitting by the fireplace.

Although I’m sure these types of business dinners still occur in some circles, the advent of so many internet based businesses has certainly changed the dynamics of how we network.  Instead of being introduced to a potential client at the country club, we ask for introductions via LinkedIn and Facebook.  Instead of having that round of golf and lunch afterward, there’s that round of emails or newsletters and maybe a follow up phone call.

A Virtual Assistant can help you put more of that personal feel into your dealings with your clients.  They can send out cards or gifts for birthdays, a thank you card and gift basket at the close of a deal.  By taking on some of your administrative burdens they can free you up to make more personal connections with your clients, or to build up relationships with potential clients.  You can get out and network with people locally, face to face, the old fashioned way, maybe get out for that round of golf at the country club, or dinner and glass of champagne.

Cheers!
