Using 1ShoppingCart and Infusionsoft For Ad Tracking

Most of my conversations with clients about 1shoppingcart and Infusionsoft revolve around selling their products or setting up their autoresponders.  Few of us actually use all of the features that our shopping carts have to offer.

I was reminded of this last week on an Infusionsoft Webinar.  The webinar was a demo of  how you can use Infusionsoft for ad tracking.  You can do the same thing with your 1shoppingcart account as well.

The basic premise is that you create tracking links within your cart and use those links, for specific ads.

The process in Infusionsoft looks something like this…

  1. Create an affiliate program specifically for Ad Tracking (no need to configure commissions etc, this is strictly for tracking clicks and sales converstions)
  2. Create a ‘Person’ for each media outlet you use.  This can look something like ‘Twitter Ads’, “Facebook Ads” and so on.
  3. Make each of those ‘People” an Affiliate
  4. Add Redirects for each link you want to use.

This can be as simple or as robust as you want it to be…and there are more steps here, but you get the basic idea.  From that point forward, you can use these affiliate tracking links in Social Media, or for banner ads, or anywhere you want to track clicks and conversions.

Thereafter, you can look at your reports in Infusionsoft and have all of your tracking statistics in one place!

With 1shoppingcart the process is bit simpler.  All you have to do is Create a new Ad Tracker.

Notice that I am not going into a ton of detail on the ‘how’.  The point of this post is to spark some new thoughts as to how you can use your existing systems to their fullest extent.  Once the wheels are turning…time to turn this over to your Virtual Assistant or Online Business Manager.  This is not something you need to spend a few hours figuring out so that you can fall into another rabbit hole.  It’s a marketing tool to be delegated to your team!
